All students are encouraged to input the contact for CARES 反应小组 (212-854-3362) for nonemergencies and 社区安全 (212-854-6666) for emergencies into their phone. Detailed information, policies & procedures, and updates can be found at 警报.十大电竞游戏综合排名.edu. Residents are also required to follow Barnard’s 社区 Commitment and Personal Responsibility Pledge which is a binding adjunct to this housing Contract.
 
Should the College be notified by a parent, 家庭成员, or friend that a Barnard student has not been seen or heard from, the College will follow established procedure and conduct a follow-up investigation within 24 hours of the original notification. If the student cannot be located after 24 hours (or sooner if circumstances warrant), the College will call the student’s Missing Person Contact (provided when students register each semester). 学生 are encouraged to let someone else in their residence hall or suite know if they are going to be away for any period of time.

如果发生紧急情况(一).e. fire in a residence hall, bomb threat, national crisis, etc.)、住宿生活 & 住房 staff will be on-site to assist in disseminating information. The College will communicate emergency notifications via the emergency 警报 system and/or College email. 在可能的情况下, students are encouraged to go immediately to their residence hall room to await pertinent information to be delivered by a residential life staff member. In the event it is not possible to return to a room, check the College website for information regarding the current situation. In the event computers are inoperable, remain calm and seek out a safe location to await further instruction. Updated information will always be available at each residence hall front desk.

All residents are required to familiarize themselves with and abide by the 消防安全资讯.
 
All persons are required to evacuate the residence hall when an alarm sounds; failure to do so is a violation of this policy. Causing a fire or a false fire alarm within a residence hall is prohibited.
 
Residence halls are equipped with fire safety equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. It is a violation of this policy to tamper with any fire safety equipment in the residence halls.  If found responsible for tampering/improper use of Life Safety equipment, 可能会被罚款100美元, as well as individual conduct actions toward the involved residents. 

General use of fire escapes are strictly prohibited. Fire escapes should only be used if the interior stairs are blocked by flames or smoke or are unsafe to access. 进入防火梯, other than in a true emergency, is prohibited and would result in disciplinary action.
